8 Startups Join iMinds' iStart Entrepreneurship Program

In the first quarter of 2016, eight promising digital startups joined iMinds' iStart entrepreneurship program. The iStart initiative already includes more than 100 companies, representing more than 400 full-time jobs and a total turnover of more than EUR 20 million (in 2015). The latest generation of iStart companies is active in a number of niche areas, which - according to the iMinds coaches - increases their chances of international success. Thanks to the Ghent startup Azumuta, companies can document and unlock their work processes in a digital way.

Antwerp-based Chestnote brings to market a refreshing 'slow messaging' app. With Chestnote, one can send and receive exciting messages that can only be opened when pre-determined conditions are met (such as location or time).

The data analysis tool from Cumul.io (Leuven) allows users to visualize and analyze information from multiple data sources in a simple way, so that better-informed decisions can be made.

Epilog (based in Ghent) has engaged in epilepsy monitoring. Doctors can use Epilog to predict better and more accurately where the problem areas for a particular patient are located, and adapt their treatment accordingly.

Equicty focuses on the international market of horse breeding and racing stables. It has developed a platform that combines data from horses, riders and managers - in order to optimize overall performance.

IDRONECT's flight management platform detects and coordinates the movements of drones. With a few mouse clicks, flights can be drawn, permissions requested and flight details tracked.

Bruges-based NephroFlow optimizes the workflows in kidney dialysis centers.

OptiBuild has developed an online software tool that allows zero-energy buildings to be designed in a cost-efficient manner.
